description

Rehabilitating a rehabilitation project. Confucius said, "Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it". Anyone who decided to take a humble farm-hand's house and turn it into what would become the board of directors' office of the Portuguese delegation of a multinational company, is certainly part of the Confucian school of thought. The reminiscence of an old stone shell of a house suffering from the odd volumetry of an industrial structure amazed me. There was a change of owner and he asked me to remodel the interior, it was going to be the Board office of a hospital group. It was not that easy. I accepted. And then, I decided. I would demolish part of the building and conserve what had belonged to the farm‑hand: walls, roof, floor and window frames (the last two were recent, actually).
I took advantage of the physical properties of some of the raw materials as the basis for the project. I designed and chose furniture.

When everything seemed ready, I photographed it and said goodbye leaving just one doubt:

– Excuse me Sir, can you tell me when will they take down the wall split?
